İlköğretim 6 Sınıflarda Fen Bilgisi Dersinde Uzayı Keşfediyoruz Ünitesinin Öğretiminde Bilgisayar Destekli Öğretimin Öğrenci Başarısına Etkisi

Öz

This study was performed to determine the effect of computer assisted instruction program on academic success of the 6th grade class students The research was planned and applied according to an experimental and a control group model on the students An overall of 40 students were selected according to their academic success from two different classes 20 students for the experimental group and 20 for the control group after an interview with their teachers The computer assisted instruction program on ‘discovering the Space Unit’ which had been prepared according to the aims and behaviors of the primary school education program with Macromedia Flash MX was tested on the experimental group for a duration of 10 h In the control group the unit was completed by traditional teaching methods at the same duration by a science teacher A multiple choice test which had been prepared and tested for its confidence and validity was used as a measurement tool The test questions were acquired from the course books approved by the Ministry of Education T test of the SPSS package program was used to analyze the data obtained from pre and final experimental tests The results obtained at the end of the study has shown that the computer assisted instruction program was more successful than that of the traditional education program in terms of academic success of the students Key Words: Computer Assisted Instruction Science Education

İLKÖĞRETİM 6. SINIFLARDA FEN BİLGİSİ DERSİNDE UZAYI KEŞFEDİYORUZ ÜNİTESİNİN ÖĞRETİMİNDE BİLGİSAYAR DESTEKLİ ÖĞRETİMİN ÖĞRENCİ BAŞARISINA ETKİSİ

Öz

Bu çalışma, bilgisayar destekli olarak hazırlanan bir programın ilköğretim
altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarına olan etkisini sınamak amacıyla
gerçekleştirilmiştir.
Araştırma bir deney ve bir kontrol grubu modeline göre planlanıp,
uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışma ilköğretim altıncı sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde uygulanmıştır.
Araştırmada, seçilecek sınıfların sınıf öğretmenleriyle görüşülerek ve birinci dönemdeki
akademik başarıları göz önüne alınarak 20 deney ve 20 kontrol grubu olmak üzere
toplam 40 öğrenci ile çalışılmıştır. Bilgisayar destekli olarak “Uzayı Keşfediyoruz”
ünitesinin ilköğretim programındaki hedef ve davranışlarına uygun olarak Macromedia
Flash MX programında hazırlanan program, 10 saatlik bir süre ile deney grubu üzerinde
uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise ünite Fen bilgisi öğretmeni tarafından geleneksel
öğretim yöntemleriyle aynı sürede tamamlanmıştır. Araştırmada ölçme aracı olarak
araştırmacı tarafından geçerlilik ve güvenirliği test edilerek hazırlanan ve çoktan
seçmeli sorulardan oluşan başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Test, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Talim
ve Terbiye Kurulunca onaylanmış olan ders kitaplarındaki sorulardan oluşturulmuştur.
Ön test ve son testlerde elde edilen veriler üzerinde SPSS paket programında t testi
analizi yapılmıştır.
Araştırma süreci sonunda elde edilen bulgular, öğrencilerin akademik başarıları
üzerinde bilgisayar destekli öğretim yönteminin geleneksel öğretim yöntemine göre
daha başarılı olduğu sonucunu ortaya koymuştur.
