Investigation of Submissive Behavior, Automatic Thoughts, Hopelessness and Life Satisfaction of High School Students

Öz

The purpose of this study was to examine submissive behavior automatic thoughts hopelessness and life satisfaction in high school students It is descriptive study comparing the submissive attitudes automatic thoughts hopelessness and life satisfaction in term of gender attitude of parents grade level The sample of the study consisted of voluntary 274 153 girls 121 male adolescents who ongoing different kind of high school For data collection Personal Information Form Submissive Scale Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire The Beck Hopelessness Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale were used For statistical analysis independent groups of “t” test one way anova person product moment correlation were used Research findings suggest that there is a relationship between submissive attitudes automatic thoughts and hopelessness There is no significant difference submissive behavior in terms of gender Whereas there is a significant difference submissive behavior in terms of attitude of parents According to grade level submissive behavior was a significant difference in favor of fourth grade There was observed a significant difference submissive behaviors There were no observed significant difference automatic thoughts scores in term of gender for high school students According to class level automatic thoughts scores was found a significant difference in favor of first and fourth grade There was no significant difference automatic thoughts scores in terms of income level Also there were no difference level of hopelessness in terms of gender parental attitudes grade level and income level There were no differences life satisfaction in terms of gender But there were differences life satisfaction in favor of democratic attitude of the parents in terms of parent attitude In addition there were no difference students’ life satisfaction in terms of students’ grade level There was a significant difference life satisfaction in terms of income in favor of students who had income between 1250 TL to 1001TL Keywords: High school students Submissive behavior Automatic thoughts Hopelessness Life satisfaction

LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE BOYUN EĞİCİ DAVRANIŞLAR, OTOMATİK DÜŞÜNCELER, UMUTSUZLUK VE YAŞAM DOYUMUNUN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı lise öğrencilerinde boyun eğici davranışlar, otomatik düşünceler,
umutsuzluk ve yaşam doyumlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırma lise öğrencilerinin
cinsiyet, anne-baba tutumu, sınıf düzeyi ve gelir düzeyi değişkenlerine göre boyun eğici
davranışlar, otomatik düşünceler, umutsuzluk ve yaşam doyumlarının karşılaştırıldığı
betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Adana ili merkez ilçelerindeki
farklı tür liselere devam eden 153‟ü kız, 121‟i erkek olmak üzere toplam 274 gönüllü
ergen oluşturmuştur. Veriler kişisel Bilgi Formu, Boyun Eğici Davranışlar Ölçeği,
Otomatik Düşünceler Ölçeği, Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ve Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği
kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde bağımsız gruplar “t” testi, tek yönlü
varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyonundan
yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, boyun eğici davranışlar, otomatik düşünceler ve
umutsuzluk arasında bir ilişki olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Lise öğrencilerinin
cinsiyete göre boyun eğici davranışlarında anlamlı bir farklılık gözlenmemiştir. Anne-baba
tutumuna göre boyun eğici davranışlarda anlamlı bir fark olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
Sınıf düzeyine göre, boyun eğici davranışlarda dördüncü sınıf, lehine anlamlı bir
farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Gelir düzeyine göre boyun eğici davranışlarda anlamlı bir
farklılık olduğu gözlenmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyete göre otomatik düşünce
puanlarında anlamlı bir farklılık gözlenmemiştir. Anne-baba tutumuna göre otomatik
düşünce puanlarına anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Sınıf düzeyine göre, otomatik
düşünce puanlarında birinci ve dördüncü sınıf, lehine anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu
anlaşılmıştır. Gelir düzeyine göre otomatik düşünce puanlarında anlamlı bir farklılık
saptanmamıştır. Lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyete, anne-baba tutumlarına, sınıf ve gelir
seviyesine göre, umutsuzluk düzeylerinin farklılaşmadığı gözlenmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyete göre, yaşam doyumlarının farklılaşmadığı görülürken, anne-baba
tutumuna göre yaşam doyumlarında demokratik anne-baba-tutumu lehine bir
farklılık olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sınıf düzeyine göre, yaşam
doyumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmezken, gelir düzeyine göre ise yaşam
doyumunda ise geliri 1001 TL ile 1250 TL arasında olan öğrenciler lehine anlamlı
farklılık olduğu gözlenmiştir.
