STRATEJİK SESSİZLİK ÖLÇEĞİNİN TÜRKÇE UYARLAMASI

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı stratejik sessizlik olgusunu kavramsal ve kuramsal düzeyde ele almak ve orijinali Parke ve diğerleri (2022) tarafından geliştirilen 6 madde ve 3 boyutlu stratejik sessizlik ölçeğinin Türkçe uyarlamasını gerçekleştirmektir. Sessizlik yazını kapsamlı biçimde taranmıştır. Ölçekteki maddeler, anlam ve içerik geçerliliği açısından uzman akademisyenlere inceletilmiştir. 72 kişilik örneklem ile ön uygulama/pilot uygulama yapılmıştır. Ana uygulama Bitlis il merkezi kamu çalışanlarından 324 örneklem toplanan veri ile yapılmıştır. Spss ve Amos programları ile açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri ile yapı geçerliliği; güvenilirlik analizleri ile iç tutarlılık değerlendirilmiştir. Türkçe’ye uyarlaması yapılan stratejik sessizlik ölçeğinin içerik, yapı geçerliliği ve güvenilirlik açısından yeterli olduğu analiz sonuçlarıyla ortaya konmuştur. Uyarlaması yapılan ölçeğin, orijinalinde de olduğu gibi üç (3) faktörlü bir yapıda olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Örneklem yalnızca Bitlis il merkezi kamu çalışanlarından oluşmaktadır, genellenebilirlik sınırlıdır. Çalışmada yalnızca nicel analizlere yer verilmiştir; farklı sektör / demografik gruplar ya da test–tekrar test gibi ek güvenilirlik analizleri yapılmamış olabilir. Stratejik sessizlik ölçeğinin Türkçe’ye uyarlanmasıyla, literatürde bu kavramı ölçmeye yönelik araç eksikliği giderilmiş; hem kuramsal hem ölçme pratiği açısından Türkiye bağlamında yeni bir katkı sunulmuştur.

TURKISH ADAPTATION OF THE STRATEGIC SILENCE SCALE

Öz

The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon of strategic silence at a conceptual and theoretical level and to adapt the 6-item, 3-dimensional strategic silence scale originally developed by Parke et al. (2022) into Turkish. The literature on silence was comprehensively reviewed. The items in the scale were reviewed by expert academics in terms of meaning and content validity. A pilot study was conducted with a sample of 72 participants. The main study was conducted with data collected from a sample of 324 public employees in the central district of Bitlis. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were performed using SPSS and Amos software to assess construct validity, and reliability analyses were conducted to evaluate internal consistency. The scale exhibited a three-factor structure, as in the original. The Turkish version was found to be adequate in terms of construct validity and reliability. The sample consisted only of public employees in the central district of Bitlis, and generalizability is limited. The study only included quantitative analyses; additional reliability analyses, such as those involving different sectors/demographic groups or test–retest, may not have been performed. The adaptation of the strategic silence scale into Turkish addresses the lack of tools in the literature for measuring this concept; it offers a new contribution to both theoretical and measurement practice in the Turkish context.
