The Umayyad dynasty, which took over the administration after the Rashid caliphs, is a family that played an important role for a period. With the Jabiyah meeting, the right to manage was taken from the Sufyani arm, one of the Umayyad families, and transferred to the Marwani branch. Khalid b. Yazid is one of the important figures of the Umayyads, of this process which means a kind of axis change in the administration. Khalid, who was the candidate of the Sufyani arm of the Bani Umayya and the Yemeni tribes supporting it, was not elected to the caliph because of his young age but was designated as the first heir. Marwan b. Hakam married his mother. Khalid, who is not very active in the political arena, is regarded as the first translator in the Islamic world to translate works from Greek and Coptic into fields such as medicine, philosophy and alchemy/chemistry. There are many treatises on chemistry, which are related to him with this aspect being controversial. In this work we will try to focus on his personality, political and scientific direction. Based on classical sources and contemporary works, we aim to contribute to the work on its historical-real personality.
