Abstract
The development and the changing of the contemporary education mentality has resulted in the changing of the teacher training programs. After 1997, this changing has reflected on the reconstruction of the teacher training system and the students who graduated from faculties other than the educational faculties have to take non-thesis post graduate programs in order that they could become teachers. The aim of this research study is to determine the candidate teachers'who are students in secondary science, mathematics and social science fields non-thesis post graduate programs from different graduate programs, opinions about these non-thesis post graduate programs. The results from this survey shows that secondary social science education (History, Philosophy) departments' students' opinions about the non-thesis post graduate programs have not changed through their gender. Considering the gender a significant difference was found in the views of the canditate teachers of department of maths - science (biology - chemstry) teacher training reperding the fact that this program should be thesiss - based program. The opinions of the social science education teacher candidates have shown disparity (diversity) due to the limited job opportunities, program's contribution to the academic career and the superiority of the educational science elective courses (I, Il). The opinions of the candidate teachers who are in science field have shown disparity in that the program will make them love their jobs and their wish for taking elective courses on their own fields. Candidate teaching staff think that these non-thesis post graduate programs are adequate enough to prepare them to their job.
