Aileden Aileye Destek Programına İlişkin Deneyimler

Öz

Şizofreni hastalığı hastanın olduğu kadar ailenin de yaşamını olumsuz etkilemektedir. Aileler çoğu zaman hasta ile beraber evde yalnız yaşamaktadırlar. Aileler yaşamlarını herhangi bir destek almadan sürdürmekte ve çoğunlukla hastası ile ilgili yaşadığı güçlükler ile nasıl baş edeceklerini bilememektedirler. Şizofreni hastasının olduğu kadar bakım verenlerinin de bilgi ve destek gereksinimleri vardır ancak bu destek gereksinimi sağlık çalışanları tarafından çoğunlukla çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı verilememektedir. Bu durum “Aileden Aileye Destek Programı” uygulamalarının başlamasına neden olmuştur. Bu derlemede Doktora tezi kapsamında geliştirilen şizofreni hastasına bakım verenlere uygulanan “Aileden Aileye Destek Programı” hazırlık aşaması ve uygulama aşamasında yaşanılan deneyimler paylaşılmaktadır.

An Experience Of Implementing The Family to Family Support Program

Öz

Schizophrenia is known to adversely affect the daily lives of family as well as the patients. Families often live together with the patients alone in their houses. They are obviously deprived of any kind of support and guidance about how to cope with the challenges they have with the patient at home. The caregivers of schizophrenia patients also require information and support about the course of the illness just like the patients. However, health professionals often fail to cover such needs of support for a variety of reasons, which currently inspired to initiate support programs, including “The Family to Family Support Program”. This review presents the results of a doctoral dissertation and aims to share the experiences of devising and implementing “the Family to Family Program”, a specially designed program to provide support to the care givers of schizophrenia patients.
