Apiterapi ve Çocuk Sağlığı

Öz

Tüm kültürlerde sağlıkla ile ilgili geleneksel ve alternatif tıp uygulamaları kullanılmaktadır. Bu uygulamalardan biri apiterapidir. Bu derlemede apiterapi ürünlerinden balın çocuk sağlığında kullanımına yer verilmiştir. Doğal bal, geleneksel olarak sağlık problemleri için kullanılmaktadır. Ebeveynler, balı ilaçlara göre daha az toksik, daha etkili ve güvenli olduğunu düşündükleri için çocuklarında sıklıkla kullanmaktadır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü, öksürükte bal kullanımını potansiyel tedavi etkisi nedeniyle önermektedir. Çocuklarda, diğer sağlık problemlerinde balın kullanımına ilişkin sınırlı sayıda araştırma bulunmaktadır. Tüm araştırmalar, 12 aydan küçük bebeklerde botulizm riski nedeni ile balı önermemektedir.

Öz

People use traditional and alternative medicine practices for health in all cultures. One of the practices is apitherapy. In the
review, it is given to honey that one of the bee products in child health. Naturel honey are traditionally used for health. Parents
used honey for children, often because of perceived less toxic, more effective and safety. The World Health Organization
(WHO) has suggested that honey is a potential treatment for coughs. There is limited research about honey in other child health
problems. Literature has suggested honey should not be fed to infants under 12 months old because of botulism risk.
