INVESTIGATION OF TREND ANALYSIS AND CHANGE POINT DETECTION FOR ANNUAL MEAN STREAMFLOWS OF SUSURLUK BASIN

Öz

In this study, the annual mean streamflow data in Susurluk Basin were investigated to evaluate statistically presence of a trend and a hydrological change point, if any. Statistically meaningful data from six gauging stations being operated by the State Hydraulic Works (DSI) in Susurluk Basin were used. The data used in this study were measured over a period of 39 to 68 years. First of all, the randomness of the data is evaluated using the Run test. Mann-Kendall rank correlation method was used for trend analysis. Trend analysis identified a decreasing trend of the river flow in the basin. An effort was made to obtain the change year using Pettitt and the Standard Normal Homogeneity Tests. In five of the six gauging stations, the change years were determined in 95% of confidence intervals. Results obtained using the aforementioned two methods were found to be compatible with each other. In addition, the change years obtained by Homogeneity Test were found to be compatible with the initial years of the trend determined using Mann-Kendall rank correlation method.

SUSURLUK HAVZASI YILLIK AKIMLARININ TREND ANALİZİ VE DEĞİŞİM NOKTASININ ARAŞTIRILMASI

Öz

Bu çalışmada Susurluk havzasındaki yıllık ortalama akım verileri istatistiki olarak değerlendirilerek bir trendin ve eğer varsa hidrolojik bir değişim noktasının varlığı araştırılmıştır. Susurluk havzasında istatistiksel olarak değerlendirme yapılabilecek ölçüm süresine sahip Devlet Su İşleri (DSİ) tarafından işletilen 6 ölçüm istasyonun verileri kullanıldı. Verileri kullanılan akım gözlem istasyonlarının ölçüm süreleri 39 ile 68 yıl arasında değişmektedir. Öncelikle verilerin kendi içinde rasgele olup olmadıkları Run testi kullanılarak tespit edildi. Trend analizi için Mann-Kendall mertebe korelasyon yöntemi kullanıldı. Trend analizi sonucunda havzadaki nehir akımlarında azalan yönde bir trend belirlendi. Pettitt ve Standart Normal Homojenlik yöntemleri yardımı ile değişim yılı tespit edilmeye çalışıldı. Verisi kullanılan 6 akım gözlem istasyonundan 5’inde % 95 güven aralığında değişim yılı belirlendi. Yıllık ortalama akımların değişim yılını belirlemek için kullanılan iki yöntem birbirleri uyumlu sonuçlar elde etti. Ayrıca homojenlik testi yöntemleri ile elde edilen değişim yılları ile Mann-Kendall mertebe korelasyon yöntemi tarafından belirlenen trend başlangıç yıllarının uyumlu olduğu gözlendi
