Wireless Sensor Networks have become an interesting research area for the researchers.
Wireless sensor nodes have some problems such as low processor, low memory and limited
energy. However, sensor nodes have random deployment, self organizing, collaboration,
local computation features. Therefore, sensor networks can be applied several areas such as
military, environmental, health and commercial areas. The most important problem of
wireless sensor network is energy efficiency. There have been several researches done in this
field. In this research IEEE 802.15.4 Wireless sensor Networks Protocol examined in detail
and MAC Layer Protocols developed for energy efficiency are presented.
