Convergence is the transformation process ın which a system integrates another system’s feature into its own structure while keeping its fundamental purpose. For example, a phone’s fundamental purpose is about transmitting sound. However, the evolution of phones with their current features such as operation system, recording videos and data transmitting is a tendency of convergence. Convergence can be seen many different fields such as economy, politics and information systems. It is a development where different areas come together and provide a better use compared to its original structure. One of these areas where the effects of convergence can be observed ıs medıa. Within the scope of this study, the effects of convergence on the news production process, news agencies and ıts employees was analyzed. A survey conducted by Anadolu News Agency and Cihan News Agency employees were evaluated to measure the effects of convergence. Our study showed that convergence affected news production process and content in the news agencies.
