Crisis, Resilience, and the New Normal: Work-amily Balance and Organizational Adaptation Processes in Post-Pandemic Türkiye

This study examines the socio-demographic differences and societal implications of remote work in Türkiye through a secondary data analysis. Indicators were drawn from national and international databases covering the period 2020–2024, and the findings are presented using descriptive statistics and illustrative graphics. The results indicate that individuals with higher levels of education and income are more likely to engage in remote work. Flexibility is more pronounced in the service sector compared to industry and agriculture, while parents particularly benefit from remote work in maintaining work–life balance. The COVID-19 pandemic served as a critical turning point, accelerating the adoption of remote work, especially among middle-aged groups, although uptake remained relatively low among younger cohorts. The study’s findings are consistent with existing research on digitalization, flexible employment, and family responsibilities, while offering novel insights specific to the Turkish context. With 2025 designated as the “Year of the Family,” these results provide timely guidance for policymakers, employers, and relevant institutions in designing family-friendly work models and fostering stronger social solidarity.
