Allah (swt) has sent prophets to His servants to convey the divine commandment in order to keep them on the straight path. After prophets passed away, the clergy who helped in the execution of the divine orders, religious worship, rituals and practices and who ruled the legal issues of the members of that religion emerged as a natural consequence of social life. However, Allah has not wanted that a privileged caste or group have emerged from the clergy who deceived by the world’s various blessings and to go the extreme in the religion by changing some halal to haram. Besides, the clergy has been warned at the point of not exceeding the boundaries drawn by religion for the sake of earthly gains and not to hide the truth and offer their own interpretation to the society instead of the divine commands. This study focuses on investigating which actions of the clergy, who are rarely praised but often condemned in the Qur’an because they are secular, cause praise or satire.
