Investigations on the Macro and Micro Anatomical Structures of Liver in Mole Rats (Spalax leucodon)

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the macro and micro-anatomical structures of liver in mole-rats (Spalax leucodon). For this purpose, five adult mole-rats were used. The right lobe (lobus hepatis dexter) was divided into lateral and medial lobules. The left lobe was located a the cavum thoracici and it was not divided. Facies parietalis and visceralis of hepar contact with cupula diaphragmatis of diaphragma and gaster, respectively. Hepar in mole-rats had lobular structure, all the edges were sharp and thin.Incisura interlobares, seperating hepar compartments was deep and extended from ventral to dorsal edge. The quadrate lobe was divided into two components by a deep notch. Gall bladder was present. Polygonal hepatic lobules were the morphological units of the liver. Hepatocytes and Kupffer cells were observed in the walls of sinusoids in the liver. Many sinusoidal spaces were observed between the cords among the hepatocytes. Poligonal lobules is located in the v.centralis. In conclusion, both anatomical and histological fundamental features of the liver of the mole rats were investigated and, additionally the main features, some of the similarities and differences were detected between mole rat and the rodentia.

Körfarelerde (Spalax leucodon) Hepar’ın Makro ve Mikro-Anatomik Yapısı Üzerinde İncelemeler

Öz

Bu çalışmada, körfarelerde hepar’ın makro ve mikro-anatomik yapısı incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla 5 adet erişkin (8-14 haftalık) körfare kullanıldı. Körfarelerde hepar’ın lobus hepatis dexter’i lateral ve medial olmak üzere 2 parça halindeyken, lobus hepatis sinister’i cavumthoracis’i kaplamış ve tek parçadan oluşmuştur. Hepar’ın facies parietalis’i diaphragma’nın cupula diaphragmatis’i ile, facies visceralis’i gaster’e temas eder vaziyette bulunmaktaydı. Körfarelerde hepar lobuler bir yapıya sahip, tüm kenarları keskin ve ince olarak gözlendi. Hepar’ı lopçuklara ayıran incisurae interlobares derin olup, ventral kenardan dorsal kenara kadar uzandığı tespit edildi. Lobus quadratus derin bir çentikle iki parçaya ayrılmıştı. Lobus caudatus hepar’ın en küçük lobu olup, iki uzantıya sahipti. Vesica fellea’nın varlığı gözlendi. Hepar’da hepatositler ve sinüzoid duvarında Kuppfer hücreleri görüldü. Hepar’ın lopçuklarının çevrelerinde ince bağdoku bölmeleri (interlobuler interstisyum) dikkati çekti. Hepar’ın morfolojik üniteleri olan lobuli hepatis, poligonal şekilli paranşimal hücreler şeklinde, çift çekirdekli ve çekirdekçikleri çok sayıda olduğu gözlenmiştir. Hepatosit remark kordonları arasında çok sayıda sinüzoidal aralıklar gözlenmiştir. Poligonal lobcuklar arasında vena centralis yer almaktadır. Sonuç olarak, körfare hepar’ının hem anatomik hem de histolojik temel özellikleri incelenmiş, körfare ile diğer rodentialar arasındaki bazı benzerlik ve farklılıklar saptanmıştır.
