X-ray Investigation of Supernova Remnant G12.8-0.0 with Suzaku
Abstract
The Galactic supernova remnant (SNR) G12.8-0.0 is a member of the class of composite SNRs and hosts the pulsar PSR J1813–1749. In this work, we investigate the X-ray nature of the emission and spectral parameters of the SNR using the high spectral resolution data from Suzaku. We found that the X-ray spectrum of G12.8-0.0 can be fitted by a non-thermal model with a high absorbing column density of NH ∼12.1x1022 cm-2 and a photon index of Γ ∼ 1.97. We also present spectral simulations of G12.8-0.0 for the future missions, XRISM and Athena. The thermal emission lines of Mg and Si are clearly resolved in both simulated spectra, indicating the presence of ejecta.
