Concepts related to sustainability issues have gained great intention with the rise of sustainability problems. Solving these problems necessitates radical changes in our daily practices, business models, consumption behavior etc., and open a number of research venues. In this study, it is aimed to understand how supply chains and supply chain management approaches are affected by the integration of frugal innovation approaches into supply chains. With this aim, a bibliometric study based on publications indexed in Web of Science and Scopus is conducted. Main concepts and relationship among these concepts are demonstrated. The results show that frugal innovation is mostly associated with sustainability, closed-loop supply chains, green products, and circular economy. The design concept seems to be neglected in the literature. As frugal innovations are realized with very limited and easily available resources, designers need to be more creative than their colleagues that have more access to required resources. Thus, in future it may be expected to see more studies directed to design processes associated with supply chains.
