Purpose of the study, which was carried out with the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Education pre-service teachers, is to determine the level of anxiety and attitudes towards the teaching profession. In this study, pre-service teachers’ attitudes and anxiety levels towards the teaching profession were examined in the sense of gender, class, the main reasons for choosing the profession, whether there are teachers in the family or not, and the relationship between attitudes and anxiety level towards the profession. The study group is comprised of 152 undergraduate students who are continuing their education in Trakya University Faculty of Education Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies. The data has been acquired through the use of Attitudes Scale towards Teaching and Teaching Occupation Anxiety Scale. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA tests. The relationships between the two scales were analyzed through the Pearson test. As a result of research findings, Computer Education and Instructional Technologies pre-service teachers have a positive and slightly above the middle level attitude towards the teaching profession and their professional anxiety is found out slightly below the middle level. Also it was found that, there is no difference towards the teaching profession attitude in sense of gender, class and whether there are teachers in the family or not, but it is found out that there is a significant difference between the attitude towards the teaching profession and the main reason to prefer the teaching profession. On the other hand, no significant difference between the variables as anxiety level of preservice teachers with the class, the main reason to prefer the teaching profession and whether there are teachers in the family or not, but significant difference according to gender was observed. Also in this study, there is no significant relationship between the anxiety level of the teaching profession and the attitude towards teaching profession.
Pre-service teachers attitude towards the teaching profession occupational anxiety
