The breakthroughs in computer and information technologies have transformed all social, political and economic life styles. The world has become a global village and the residents of this village have the chance to interact even if they do not know each other. Now, desires have gone beyond necessities and acted with a hedonist conception of consumption. In this context, the purpose of the study was determined as the digitalization of consumption practices. It was tried to explain how the consumer culture transformed through digital technologies through Netflix, the world's largest digital content platform. In this context, a semi-structured interview was chosen as a method from qualitative methods. The data obtained from academic staff who work at Aksaray University and subscribe to Netflix are interpreted. According to the data, the vast majority of the participants stated that they prefer Netflix because of its easy access, where it can be watched from, where it offers the opportunity to watch without problems such as stuttering and freezing, it has a lot of options, and it can be watched on smart devices. It is understood from the data obtained from the participants in the criticism that it is addictive to Netflix, its negative characteristics such as sexuality, slang, and substance abuse, and that it makes homosexuality propaganda. Examining Netflix in the context of cultural imperialism will contribute to the literature in terms of understanding the importance of digital content.
