Erzincan Folk Culture in Retrospect

Öz

This study is about the folklore of the residents of Erzincan.
The city, know as “Aziris” in the Antique age, was called “Ezirgan” and
“Erzingan” by Turks. Studies abaut Erzincan and its surroundings riveal its history,
geography and folk culture.
The life of people in Ezincan is shaped by values in the social structure and
geographical conditions. They also exert their influence in the folklore.
The residents in Erzincan have always kept alive the dynamıc social structure
througt traditions, celebrations and festivals, and kept their unity.
