A lawsuit has been filed in California against the Republic of Turkey,
the Central Bank of Turkey and Ziraat Bank by some American citizens of
Armenian origin living in the US for the returning and compensation of those
properties abondoned during the Ottoman Empire or being confiscated during the
relocation. This article will examine the US regulations and some leading cases,
will address the effect of ambiguity in the approach of the US executive power on
the lawsuits and will present views concerning the roads that could be taken.
