THE RISE OF RATIONAL SCIENCE IN THE DURATION OF REFORMATION IN ENGLAND

The predilection for scientific research in protestant circles may be largely explained by the great emphasis laid by reformed theology upon the central theme: the glory of God. The duty of scientific investigation of nature was not regarded as a obey to dogmas, it was enjoyed as a duty of love. It has also been pointed out that among the group of ten scientists who during the English Commonwealth formed the nucleus that would afterward grow into the Royal Society, seven were decidedly puritan. Orientation to observational and experimental sciences by courtesy of the economic ideals of the upper classes which majority of those were puritans.
