Mehmet Rüştü Uzel'in Türk eğitim tarihindeki yeri ve önemi

Öz

Bir ülkenin kalkınmasında, nitelikli insan gücünün yetiştirilmesinde mesleki ve teknik eğitim kurumları önemli görevler yerine getirmektedir. Ülkemizde doğal kaynakların işletilmesi, insanların üretim güçlerinin geliştirilmesi için bu okullara gerekli önemin verilmesi gerekmektedir. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında zayıf bir ekonomi ve çok yetersiz bir mesleki eğitim devralınmıştır. Mesleki ve teknik eğitimin Türkiye’de en önemli gelişimi Cumhuriyet döneminde gerçekleşmiştir. Mesleki ve teknik eğitimin Türkiye’de kurumsallaşması, gelişim göstermesinde Mehmet Rüştü Uzel önemli görevler yerine getirmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye’de mesleki ve teknik eğitimle özdeşleşmiş Mehmet Rüştü Uzel’in Türk eğitim tarihindeki yeri ve önemi hakkında bilgi vermektir. Bu amaç kapsamında internet ve kütüphane ortamında konuya ilişkin literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Amaca uygun bulunan makale ve kitaplar içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiştir.  Araştırma sonunda Mehmet Rüştü Uzel’in Türk eğitim tarihine en büyük katkısının mesleki ve teknik eğitim alanında olduğu görülmüştür. O, sadece eğitimci yönüyle değil aynı zamanda idareci yönüyle de bu okullara önemli bir ivme kazandırmış, görevde bulunduğu süre içinde on bin dolayında olan öğrenci sayısını elli bine çıkarmış, çok sayıda yeni okul açmıştır.

Mehmet Rüştü Uzel's role and importance in Turkish education history

Öz

Vocational and technical education institutions perform important tasks in the development of a country and in the training of qualified manpower. In our country, importance should be given to these schools in order to exploit natural resources and improve the production power of people. In the early years of the Republic, there were a weak economy and poor vocational training. The most important development of technical and vocational education took place in this period of the Republic of Turkey.  Mehmet Rüştü Uzel has fulfilled an important role in the institutionalization of vocational and technical education in Turkey. The aim of this study is to give information about the role and importance of Mehmet Rüştü Uzel in the history of vocational and technical education in Turkey. Mehmet Rüştü Uzel is to provide information about the role and importance of Turkish educational history. For this purpose, literature was reviewed. The articles and books which were found suitable for the purpose were examined by content analysis method. At the end of the research, it was seen that Mehmet Rüştü Uzel's greatest contribution to the history of Turkish education was in the field of vocational and technical education. He contributed to vocational training not only from the aspect of educator but also from the administrative side. During this term, he increased the number of students from around ten thousand to fifty thousand and opened many new schools.
