Assessment of Wind Energy Potential Across Various Regions of Turkey
Öz
The current article aimed to analyze wind data in locations where wind turbines were located in various regions of Turkey between 2013 and 2022. Additionally, the goal was to compare this data with the wind data collected from OMGI devices positioned in locations within the Eastern Anatolia region devoid of wind turbines yet anticipated to experience robust wind conditions. This analysis showed that wind turbines could be installed in the high-wind areas of the Eastern Anatolia region, where wind turbines were unavailable. Omni devices were placed in these regions by the state meteorology institution to determine the wind speeds of these regions, and wind speed data were obtained from these points. SPSS analyses were conducted on wind speeds gathered from 82 locations, both with and without wind turbines, and corresponding tables and graphics were generated. The findings from the analyses conducted on these graphs and tables have been interpreted. Upon analysis of the data in the Eastern Anatolia region, when juxtaposed with the average data, it was clear that wind turbines can be installed in some places in the Eastern Anatolia region.
