DETERMINATION OF THE PERCEPTIONS OF WOMEN GIVING VAGINAL BIRTHS ABOUT SUPPORTIVE CARE IN LABOR

Öz

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine
the perceptions of women who had vaginal birth on supportive care at labor.

Methods: The research
is descriptive. The population of the study consists of all women who had
vaginal delivery between 01 October 2017-31 May 2018 in a postpartum clinic of
a maternity hospital. The sample consisted of 296 women who met the research
criteria. Data were collected by face-to-face interview technique using
personal information form and scale of woman’s perception of supportive care
given to woman in labor.

Results: The mean age
of the women was 28.06 ± 6.03 and 36.8% of them are primary school graduates
and 51% of them have moderate income level. The total mean score of women's
perceptions of supportive care given at labor was 108.34 ± 15.51.

Conclusion: Perceptions of
women with vaginal delivery regarding supportive care were found to be good
level. Midwives have important responsibilities in the delivery process,
preparing women for childbirth and ensuring that they have a positive birth
experience.

VAJİNAL DOĞUM YAPAN KADINLARIN DOĞUMDA VERİLEN DESTEKLEYİCİ BAKIMA İLİŞKİN ALGILARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, vajinal doğum yapan
kadınların doğumda verilen destekleyici bakıma ilişkin algılarının belirlenmesidir.

Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı tiptedir. Araştırmanın evrenini bir kadın doğum hastanesinin
postpartum kliniğinde 01 Ekim 2017-31 Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında vajinal
doğum yapan kadınların tümü, örneklemini ise araştırma kriterlerini karşılayan
296 kadın oluşturmuştur. Veriler kişisel bilgi formu ve doğumda verilen
destekleyici bakıma ilişkin kadının algısı ölçeği kullanılarak yüz-yüze görüşme
tekniği ile toplanmıştır.

Bulgular: Kadınların yaş ortalaması 28.06±6.03’dür
ve %36.8’i ilkokul mezunu, %51’inin gelir durumu orta düzeydedir. Kadınların
doğumda verilen destekleyici bakıma ilişkin algıları toplam puan ortalaması
108.34±15.51’dir. 

Sonuç: Vajinal doğum yapan kadınların
destekleyici bakıma ilişkin algılarının iyi düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir.
Doğum sürecinde ebelerin kadınları doğum eylemine hazırlamada ve olumlu doğum
deneyimi edinmelerini sağlamada önemli sorumlulukları bulunmaktadır.
