EFFECTS OF PSYCHODRAMA GROUP THERAPY ON PAIN, DEPRESSION AND SATISFACTION WITH LIFE IN WOMEN WITH FIBROMYALGIA SYNDROME

Öz

Objectives: With psychodrama group therapy, it was aimed to decrease the pain and depression by providing expression of emotions and increase the satisfaction with life of the women which are diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. Method: The study was started with 15 patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome, referred from the physical therapy and rehabilitation outpatient clinic and completed with 12 patients. Psychodramatic sessions were held once a week for 11 weeks. The techniques which is used effectively are double, mirror and role reversal. Beck Depression Inventory, Life Satisfaction Scale and Fibromiyalgia Impact Questionnaire were applied to the patients before and after the psychodrama group study. Results: At the end of the study, it was observed that the patients had less pain and started to feel more comfortable. There was a significant decrease in the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire and Beck Depression Inventory between pre-post test results. Although Life Satisfaction Scale Scores were not reflected in the statistics, it was found to increase. Conclusion: Members’ belief that they could recover and self-confidence increased. They had the opportunity to see the underlying causes of their pain with psychodrama techniques, and when they could verbally express the feelings they suppressed, they noticed that their complaints decreased. Therefore, we think that using psychodrama techniques in patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome has made an important contribution to the treatment.

FİBROMİYALJİ SENDROMU TANILI KADINLARDA PSİKODRAMA GRUP TERAPİSİNİN AĞRI, DEPRESYON VE YAŞAM DOYUMU ÜZERİNE ETKİLERİ

Öz

Amaç: Psikodrama grup terapisi uygulaması ile, fibromiyalji sendromu tanısı alan kadınların, duygu ifadeleri sağlanarak ağrılarını ve eşlik eden depresyonlarını azaltıp yaşam doyumlarını arttırmak amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya, fizik tedavi ve rehabilitasyon polikliniğinden yönlendirilen, fibromiyalji sendromu tanılı, 15 hastayla başlanmış, 12 hastayla tamamlanmıştır. Oturumlar; haftada bir gün, 11 hafta boyunca yapılmıştır. Etkin kullanılan teknikler; rol değiştirme, aynalama ve eşlemedir. Hastalara psikodrama grup çalışmaları öncesi ve sonrasında, Beck Depresyon Ölçeği, Fibromiyalji Etki Anketi, Yaşam doyumu Ölçeği verilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmanın sonunda hastaların, ağrılarının azaldığı ve kendilerini daha rahat hissetmeye başladıkları görülmüştür. Fibromiyalji Etki Anketi ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği ön test-son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir azalma olmuştur. Yaşam Doyum Ölçeği puanlarının istatistiklere yansımamış olsa da yükseldiği görülmüştür. Sonuç: Hastaların iyileşebileceklerine dair inançları ve özgüvenleri artmıştı. Ağrılarının derinde yatan nedenlerini psikodrama teknikleriyle görme fırsatı bulabilmiş, bastırdıkları duyguları sözel olarak ifade edebildiklerinde yakınmalarının azaldığını fark etmişlerdi. Sonuç olarak fibromiyalji hastalarında psikodrama tekniklerinin kullanımının tedaviye önemli bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmüştür.
