Evaluation of Odontogenic Infections, Complications and Treatment - A Review

Yıl 2017, Cilt: 26 Sayı: 2, 175 - 180, 01.07.2017

Öz

Odontogenic infections are important problems in
dentistry. If these infections are not correctly
diagnosed and treated, they can cause life-threatening
complications. The treatment of these infections is
generally carried out with endodontic, surgical and
antibiotic therapy, or combinations of these methods.
In addition, the use of wrong antibiotics is an
important problem in dentistry. For these reasons,
dentists should be careful about early diagnosis and
proper treatment of odontogenic infections. In this
literature review, proper approaches, possible
complications and the treatment of infection are
included in the evaluation of odontogenic infections

Odontojenik enfeksiyonlar, diş hekimliğinde önemli
problemlerin başında yer almaktadır. Bu enfeksiyonlar
doğru şekilde teşhis edilip tedavi edilmezlerse, yayılarak hayati tehlike yaratacak komplikasyonlar oluşturabilirler. Bu enfeksiyonların tedavisi genel olarak
endodontik tedavi, cerrahi tedavi ve antibiyotik tedavisi
veya bu yöntemlerin kombinasyonları ile yapılmaktadır.
Ayrıca yanlış antibiyotik kullanımı da diş hekimliğinde
önemli bir problemdir. Bu nedenlerle diş hekimleri
odontojenik enfeksiyonların tedavisinde erken teşhis ve
doğru tedavi konusunda dikkatli olmalıdır. Bu literatür
derlemesinde odontojenik enfeksiyonların değerlendirilmesinde doğru yaklaşımlar, gelişebilecek olası komplikasyonlar ve enfeksiyonun tedavisi konuları yer almaktadır.
