Detection of antibodies against Egg drop syndrome-1976 (EDS'76) in yolk and serum of vaccinated, nonvaccinated chickens by haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) test

Studler laying hens that lacked haemagglutination-inhibition antibody were vaccinated intramuscullary with :the EDS'76 vaccine. Before and after vaccination, 300 sera and 300 yolks were collected from chickens. Antibodies were not detected in sera of 150 and in yolks of 150 of unvaccinated hens by HI tests. In the vaccinated group, 150 sera were positive in the EDS'76 HI test, with titres ranging from log2 5-13 and 150 yolks treated with chloroform were positive in .the same test, with titres ranging from log2 3-11. A good corelation was observed between serum and yolk titers. Results of this study show that yolk from EDS'76 vaccinated hens is readily used instead of serum for detection of antibodies against EDS'76.

I.Egg Drop Syndrome-1976 (EDS'76)'ya Karşı Aşılı ve Aşısız Tavukların Yumurta Sarısı ve Serumlarındaki Antikorların Hemaglutinasyon-İnhibisyon (HI) Testi ile Belirlenmesi

Öz

EDS'76 virusuna karşı HI antikorları taşımayan Studler ırkı yumurta tavukları EDS'76 aşısı ile aşılanmışlardır. Aşılamadan önce ve aşılamadan sonra hayvanlardan 150'şer olmak üzere toplam 300 serum ve 300 yumurta alınarak EDS'76 yönünden HI testi uygulanmış, aşılamnamış .grupta serum ve yumurta sarısı HI titreleri negatif bulunmuştur. Aşılanmış grupta . ise; serum HI titreleri log2 5-13, yumurta sarısı HI titrelerinin log2 3-11 arasında değiştiği ve aralarında uygun bir korelesyon olduğu saptanmıştır. Alınan sonuçlara göre EDS'76'ya karşı oluşan antikorları saptama da serum yerine yumurta sarısının kullanılalbileceği belirlenmiştir.
