Okul Müdürlerinin Aday Öğretmen Yetiştirme Sürecindeki Rollerine İlişkin Görüşleri / School Principals’ Opinions On Their Roles In The Induction Process of Teachers

This study aims to determine the problems experienced by the school principals about their roles during the induction process of teachers and their suggestions for the improvement of the process. Based on the qualitative research method, one nested case pattern, which is one of the case study patterns, is used in the study. Criterion sampling and easily accessible sampling techniques were used to determine the participants. The study group consists 10 school principals. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. Content analysis was used for the analysis of the data. The results revealed that school principals applied the works and processes included in the legislation mostly in the induction process of teachers and they applied limited strategies. The results also showed that school principals prefer face-to-face communication while communicating with teachers, but they do not use other communication channels effectively in the process. It is observed that school principals do not provide sufficient feedback to the teachers and have a negative perception of the concept of feedback. According to opinions of the principals the following suggestions can be given about the process; the training should be completedbefore the profession, the teachers shouldn’t be responsible of any courses during the induction process, the legislation should be reviewed rather than changed frequently, some standards should be set,and an assessment based on concrete data should be applied and sharing experiences would be anotheroption.

Bu araştırmada, hizmet içinde adaylık sürecinde olan öğretmenlerin yetiştirilmesine ilişkin okul yöneticisi rolleri ve yaşanan sorunlar ve sürecin iyileştirilmesine ilişkin çözüm önerileri okul yöneticilerinin görüşlerine dayanarak incelenmiştir.Nitel araştırma yöntemine dayalı olarak gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Katılımcıların belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme ve kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubuna 10 okul müdürü dâhil edilmiştir. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde nitel veri çözümleme tekniği olarak içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre okul müdürlerinin aday öğretmenlerin yetiştirilmeleri sürecinde daha çok mevzuatta yer alan iş ve işlemleri uyguladıkları, sınırlı biçimde farklı stratejilere başvurdukları görülmüştür. Okul müdürlerinin aday öğretmenlerle iletişim kurarken daha çok yüz yüze iletişimi tercih ettikleri, ancak diğer iletişim kanallarını bu süreçte etkin biçimde kullanmadıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Okul müdürlerinin aday öğretmenlere yeterince geribildirim sağlamadıkları ve geribildirim kavramına ilişkin olumsuz bir algıya sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Aday öğretmen yetiştirme sürecinin daha verimli olmasına ilişkin okul müdürlerinin görüşleri ise bu sürecin öğretmenlik mesleğine giriş öncesi yetiştirme döneminde tamamlanması, adaylık sürecinde aday öğretmene ders verilmemesi, mevzuatın sıklıkla değiştirilmek yerine gözden geçirilerek bir standardın sağlanması, somut veriye dayalı bir ölçme değerlendirmenin yapılması ve bu süreçte deneyimlerin paylaşılması yönünde olmuştur.
