The Wearable Technology Revolution in Post-Surgical Patient Follow-Up: Reflections on Nursing Care

Öz

The health sector is one of the areas where technological developments are rapidly integrated. This transformation provides significant advances in diagnosing and treating diseases and managing care practices. In this direction, it is evident that the age of digital transformation has commenced and is progressing rapidly, with the utilisation of technological devices and equipment becoming pervasive in the field of health. Wearable devices play a central role in healthcare’s digital transformation. These devices, which can monitor daily activities and analyze the data obtained, are also employed effectively in the context of patient follow-up after surgical intervention. This study examined the utilisation of wearable technological devices following various surgical interventions. The review encompassed a discussion of the features of these devices and the areas of their application in clinical settings. Additionally, the review evaluated the effectiveness of these devices in nursing care. The study illuminates the contributions of wearable technologies in postoperative patient care and their impact on nursing practices.
