Dede Korkut is known as the ancestor, the leader, the miraculous saint of the Turks. And Dede Korkut is a work which consists of 12 epic stories and an introduction about the lives of the Muslims around Northeast Anatolia told with the language of the Oghuz Turks.
In this book, the moral values and Islamic values are interwoven; morality is accepted as an extremely outstanding value. In the work, worldly wealth ançl desire, haughtiness, lie, slander and anger are introduced as bad moral qualities. Beauty, honesty, loyalty, humility, generosity and benevolence, hospitality, banquet and gift; consultation (consulting with intelligent and wise people), being hardworking, heroism, honor, friendship, etc. are reflected as good moral qualities.
