The aim of this study was to assess the awareness levels of metabolic syndrome among classroom teachers, physical education teachers, and sports teachers working in Bitlis province. The study group consisted of 189 volunteer teachers, 72 (47.1%) male and 81 (52.9%) female. Demographic information, including gender, department, income status, age, professional experience, body weight, and height, was collected and evaluated. The Metabolic Syndrome Knowledge and Awareness Scale, developed by Karaman and Akbulut (2023), was used as the data collection tool. The research findings indicated that gender, department, income status, age, professional experience, body weight, and height had no significant impact on metabolic syndrome awareness levels. Furthermore, awareness scores of teachers with knowledge of metabolic syndrome were found to be significantly higher than those without. In conclusion, while teachers' awareness of metabolic syndrome is independent of demographic factors, their knowledge of metabolic syndrome plays a significant role in raising awareness. This information highlights the importance of targeted training and information programs to increase metabolic syndrome awareness among educators.
