Telemedicine is the remote provision of health services through information technologies. Determining trends in telemedicine literature helps to determine future directions of telemedicine research. Bibliometrics is used in quantitative analysis of the literatüre. 391 scientific publications indexed in the Web of Science database were examined with bibliometric analysis and illustrated with visual mapping technique. The research trends observed in the field of telemedicine are mostly in the fields of electrical-electronic engineering, telecommunication, computer/information systems, medical informatics. artificial intelligence, health sciences/services, radiology and ophthalmology. Publications are predominantly in the form of proceedings papers and articles. The rate of increase in scientific studies varies over the years, but it does not show a steady increase. The country that contributes the most to the literature is the United States of America. India, Italy, England and the Netherlands show similar effects. It is seen that the studies of the most cited authors are conducted in the fields of teleintensive care, teletrauma, teleophthalmology and telecardiology. It can be said that many fields such as neuroscience, neurology and occupational health are among the accelerating research areas for telemedicine technologies. This study was conducted to determine the research trends in telemedicine literatüre. It is thought that the findings will guide the studies on telemedicine and will contribute to the researchers about research activities in the future.
