A NEW APPROACH FOR ACTIVE AND REACTIVE POWER OPTIMIZATION

Öz

In this study, a new approach has been presented for optimal real and reactive powerdispatch. The complex optimization analysis is twofold, involving optimum voltage
evaluation and real power optimization with the optimally determined voltages. An expression for λ, a linear function of the penalty factors, is derived which determines
the optimal real power dispatch. Transmission losses are considered as a function of system voltage and are minimized by adjusting the generator voltage magnitude
dependent on excitation. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by means of a sample system.
