Mimarlıkta Estetik Değerlendirmeye Bir Yaklaşım

Öz

"Mimari ürün"ün değerlendirilmesi problemi, tarih boyunca üzerinde tartışılan ve bir sonuca varılamamış olan, doğası nedeniyle de güncelliğini koruyan bir alandır. Üzerinde durulmasının en önemli nedenlerinden biri, mimarlığın gelişiminin, diğer disiplinlerde olduğu gibi, mevcut durumun saptanmasına, geçmişle bağlantısının kurulmasına dayalı olmasıdır. Mimari ürün, ekonomik, teknolojik, iklimsel, etik, vs. bir çok açıdan değerlendirilebilir. Bu bakış açıları, mimarlığın özüne, yani mimari ürünün içeriğine erişmek için yetersiz olduklarından, mimarlığın kendinde değerinin, anlamının ve doğayla ilişkisinin çözülebilmesi için, "estetik" açıdan bakılmalıdır. Ne var ki, estetik değerlendirme yapabilmek için gerekli olan kriterlerin düzenli bir liste halinde bulunması imkansızdır. Estetiğin somut olmayan yanı, genel geçer kriterler konup objektif bir değerlendirme yapılmasını engeller. Bu çalışmada, estetik değerlendirmenin somut ve soyut aşamaları, mimarlığın sanat olduğu yorumundan yola çıkılarak saptanmış, kısaca açıklanmış ve örneklenmiştir.
Amaç; kriterlerin içeriklerinden çok, estetik değerlendirmenin boyutlarının ve niteliklerinin ifade edilebilmesidir.

A COMMENT ON AESTHETICAL JUDGMENT IN ARCHITECTURE

Öz

During the history, evaluation of the "architectural product" has been a problem having no solution. Because of its nature, it is always fresh in minds. As in the other disciplines, development in architecture depends on determining the present condition and its contact to the past. Architecture can be evaluated from too many points of view like economical, technological, climatic, ethical, etc. As those points of view are not enough to find out the essence of the architecture, for reaching to its value, its meaning and its relation to the nature, architectural product should be analyzed from the aesthetical point of view. Unfortunately, it is impossible to find an absolute list of the criteria needed to make an evaluation. The tangible part of aesthetics prevents us from determining unchangeable criteria and evaluating objectively. Therefore, aesthetical judgment changes from one person to another. In this study, the tangible and the intangible parts of the aesthetical judgment are tried to be determined, cleared out shortly and set some examples, departing from the idea of architecture's being an art. The main aim is; to take attention to the dimensions and the qualifications of aesthetical judgment, more than to the contents of the criteria.
