Aging, defined as a chronic condition characterized by physiological changes and a decrease in functions in organs/systems, a decrease in reserve capacities, and the occurrence of certain pathological conditions and diseases, is a natural process that necessitates geriatric rehabilitation. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has taken over the world, has had the most adverse effects on the elderly. Due to the pandemic, it has been difficult to reach the geriatric population, and rehabilitation programs have not been carried out to the desired extent. During the pandemic, the elderly have faced various issues requiring rehabilitation, including pulmonary, cardiac, and psychological problems, as well as malnutrition, sarcopenia, home accidents, and difficulties accessing preventive health services. Therefore, geriatric rehabilitation has gained significant importance globally during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article comprehensively addresses the issues related to geriatric rehabilitation for the geriatric population.
