Turizm Sektöründe Dijital Dönüşüm ve Dijital İnovasyonlar Üzerine Kavramsal Bir Değerlendirme

Öz

Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin yaygınlaşmasıyla dijitalleşme iş hayatının her alanında hız kazanmıştır. Dijitalleşme, yani modern teknolojilerinin kullanımı turizm sektöründe de sürekli artış göstermektedir. Teknoloji desteği olmadan gelişen bir turizm sektörünün varlığını düşünmek neredeyse imkânsızdır. Turizm işletmelerinin turistlerin teknolojiye dayalı giderek artan beklentilerini karşılayabilmesi için tüm üretim ve hizmet süreçlerinde dijitalleşmesi, dijital inovasyonları benimsemesi ve uygulamaya koyması gerekmektedir. Dijital inovasyonlar, günümüzün çok hızlı değişimler yaşanan teknoloji dünyasında turizm işletmelerine rekabet üstünlüğü sağlayan önemli bir faktör durumundadır. Teknoloji ve turizmin entegrasyonu, sadece turizm işletmelerine değil turistlere de büyük yararlar sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, dijital dönüşüm ve dijital inovasyon olgularını güncel literatüre dayalı olarak açıklamak, dijitalleşmenin turizm sektöründe nasıl karşılık bulduğunu ve hangi dijital inovasyonların benimsendiğini nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yöntemiyle incelemektir. Çalışma kapsamında, turizmde dijital dönüşüm ile dijital inovasyon olguları, turizmde dijitalleşmenin artan önemi ve sektöre etkileri açıklanmıştır. Çalışmada, dijitalleşmenin sektörde yarattığı faydalar farklı turizm paydaşları olan işletmeler ve turistler açısından ele alınarak tartışılmıştır. Turizm sektöründe benimsenen ve uygulanan güncel dijital inovasyonlar ikincil kaynaklara dayalı olarak incelenmiş, sınıflandırılmış ve tablolaştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda konu ile ilgili ileride yapılacak çalışmalara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Öz

Digitalization has accelerated in every area of life with the widespread use of information and communication technologies. Digitalization, the use of modern technologies, is constantly increasing in tourism. It is almost impossible to think of a developed tourism sector without technological support. In order to meet the increasing expectations of tourists on technology, tourism businesses need to digitalize all service processes, adopt digital innovations and implement them. Digital innovations are important factor that provides a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing technological world. The integration of technology and tourism also has many benefits for both businesses and tourists. The main purpose of this study is to explain the digital transformation and digital innovation phenomena, evaluate how digitalization takes place in the tourism sector and which digital innovations are adopted by using document analysis method that one of the qualitative research methods. Within the scope of the study, the digital transformation and digital innovation phenomena in tourism, the increasing importance of digitalization in tourism and its effects on the sector are explained. In the study, the benefits of digitalization in the sector are discussed from the perspective of businesses and tourists. In the last section, digital innovations adopted and implemented in the tourism sector are evaluated, categorized and presented in Table 1 according to secondary data.
