Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanında dizinlenen 1.503 yayına dayanan çalışmada ortak yazarlık, ortak atıf, bibliyografik eşleme ve anahtar kelimelerin birlikte bulunma analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, camın ekonomik ve ekolojik önemi göz önünde bulundurulduğunda işletme ve iktisat alanlarında konuya yönelik akademik ilginin sınırlı kaldığını göstermektedir. Öte yandan üretim süreçleri ve hammadde kullanımı üzerine gelişen tartışmalar güncel sorunlara yönelik artan farkındalığı yansıtmaktadır. Çalışma disiplinlerarası yaklaşımların ve kurumsal iş birliklerinin gerekliliğini vurgulamakta ve literatürdeki temel boşlukları ortaya koyarak cam odaklı araştırmaların kapsamını genişletmeye yönelik öneriler sunmaktadır.

Öz

This study investigates the evolution of academic research on glass and glassware, emphasizing its commercial and environmental relevance. The main objective of this study is to reveal how the academic focus on glass and glassware has shifted over time and to highlight its underexplored position within business and economic research. While earlier work focused on archaeology and history, recent studies address sustainability, innovation and industrial applications. Drawing on 1,503 publications indexed in the Web of Science, this study applies co-authorship, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrence analyses. Findings indicate that, despite glass’s economic and ecological importance, scholarly attention remains limited in business and economics. However, emerging discussions on production methods and raw materials reflect growing awareness of contemporary challenges. The study underscores the need for interdisciplinary perspectives and enhanced institutional collaboration. It also identifies key gaps in the literature and offers directions for broadening glass-related scholarship. Ultimately, the research calls for a more integrated academic agenda that frames glass not only as a historical artifact but also as a strategic material in sustainability, innovation and economic transformation debates.
