ANİMASYON DESTEKLİ BİR EĞİTİM PROGRAMININ HEMŞİRELERİN BRAKİYAL ARTER KAN BASINCI ÖLÇÜMÜ HAKKINDAKİ BİLGİ VE BECERİLERİNE ETKİSİ: TEK GRUPLU, ÖN TEST-SON TEST ÇALIŞMA

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, animasyonlu bir eğitim programının hemşirelerin brakiyal arter kan basıncı ölçümüne ilişkin bilgi ve uygulamaları üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Yöntem: Bu yarı deneysel gözlemsel çalışma, tek gruplu, ön test-son test tasarımını benimsemiştir. Araştırma, Nisan ve Haziran 2022 tarihleri arasında bir devlet hastanesinde yürütülmüştür. Örneklem 49 hemşireden oluşmuştur. Veriler, Hemşire Bilgi Formu (HBF), Brakiyal Arter Kan Basıncı Ölçümü Bilgi Testi (BAKBÖBT) ve Brakiyal Arter Kan Basıncı Ölçümü Gözlem Kılavuzu (BAKBÖGK) kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Animasyonlu eğitim programı (müdahale), bir PowerPoint sunumu ve bir animasyondan oluşmuştur. Katılımcılar müdahaleye üç haftalık bir süre boyunca erişmişlerdir. Veriler, frekanslar, yüzdeler ve standart sapmalar kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar: Katılımcıların ortalama son test BAKBÖBT puanı (16,73±2,70), ön test puanından (11,20±2,92) anlamlı derecede daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların, ön test puanlarından (18,74±3,17) anlamlı derecede daha yüksek bir ortalama son test BAKBÖGK puanına (23,90±3,31) sahip oldukları görüldü (p=0,001). Sonuç: Müdahale, tüm katılımcıların brakiyal arter kan basıncı ölçümü hakkında daha fazla bilgi edinmelerine yardımcı oldu. Ayrıca, brakiyal arter kan basıncı ölçümü becerilerini geliştirmelerini teşvik etti. Bu nedenle, hastaneler hemşirelere düzenli olarak brakiyal arter kan basıncı ölçümü konusunda teknoloji tabanlı hizmet içi eğitim programları sağlamalıdır.

THE EFFECT OF AN ANIMATED TRAINING PROGRAM ON NURSES’ KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REGARDING BRACHIAL ARTERY BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT: A SINGLE GROUP, PRE-TEST-POST-TEST STUDY

Öz

Aim: This study investigated the impact of an animated training program on nurses’ knowledge of brachial artery blood pressure measurement. Method: This quasi-experimental observational study adopted a single-group, pre-posttest design. The research was conducted in a state hospital between April and June 2022. The sample consisted of 49 nurses. Data were collected using a Nurse Information Form (NIF), a Brachial Artery Blood Pressure Measurement Knowledge Test (BABPMKT), and a Brachial Artery Blood Pressure Measurement Observation Guide (BABPMOG). The animated training program (intervention) consisted of a PowerPoint presentation and an animation. Participants accessed the intervention over a three-week period. The data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, and standard deviations. Results: Participants had a significantly higher mean posttest BABPMKT score (16.73±2.70) than the pretest score (11.20±2.92). They had a significantly higher mean posttest BABPMOG score (23.90±3.31) than the pretest score (18.74±3.17) (p=0.001). Conclusion: The intervention helped all participants learn more about brachial artery blood pressure measurement. It also encouraged them to develop more brachial artery blood pressure measurement skills. Therefore, hospitals should regularly provide nurses with tech-based in-service training programs on brachial artery blood pressure measurement.
