Covid-19 Güncel Tedavi Yaklaşımları ve Akupunktur

Öz

2019 Aralık ayının sonlarında Çin’in Hubei eyaletinin Wuhan kentinde nedeni bilinmeyen bir pnömoni salgını meydana geldi. Dünyada koronavirüs hastalığı 19 (covid-19) adı verilen pandemi bugünkü güncel rakamlarla 453.774.980 kişinin hastalanmasına ve 6.051.450 kişinin ise vefat etmesine neden oldu. Covid-19 hastalığı asemptomatik olabileceği gibi üst solunum yolu enfeksiyonuna benzer hafif semptomlardan yaşamı tehdit eden sepsis bulgularına kadar geniş bir semptom yelpazesine sahip olabilir. Akut solunum sıkıntısı sendromu yüksek ölüm oranlarından sorumludur. Günümüzde Covid-19 için güvenilirliği ve etkinliği kanıtlanmış spesifik bir tedavi bulunmamaktadır. Covid-19 tedavisi için önerilen güncel yaklaşımlar arasında; izolasyon, oksijen tedavisi, sıvı yönetimi ve sekonder bakteriyel enfeksiyonlar için antibiyotik kullanımı gibi destekleyici yaklaşımlar yer almaktadır. Covid-19 tedavi seçeneklerine bakıldığında güncel tedavi yaklaşımlarına ilave olarak geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp yöntemlerinin de kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Bu yazıda Covid-19’a yönelik kullanılabilecek geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp yöntemlerinden biri olan akupunktur tedavisinin gözden geçirilmesi ve okuyucuya bu konuda bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Covid-19 is Current Treatment Approaches and Acupuncture

Öz

In late December 2019, an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown cause occurred in Wuhan, China's Hubei province. This pandemic, which is called coronavirus disease 19 in the world, caused 453.774.980 people to get sick and 6.051.450 people to die. Covid-19 disease can be asymptomatic or have a wide range of symptoms, from mild symptoms similar to upper respiratory tract infection to life-threatening signs of sepsis. Acute respiratory distress syndrome is responsible for high mortality rates. Currently, there is no specific treatment for Covid-19 with proven safety and efficacy. Among the current approaches recommended for Covid-19 treatment; Supportive approaches such as isolation, oxygen therapy, fluid management, and the use of antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections. Looking at the Covid-19 treatment options, it is seen that traditional and complementary medicine (Traditional Chinese Medicine) methods are also used in addition to current treatment approaches. In this article, it is aimed to review acupuncture treatment, which is one of the traditional and complementary medicine methods that can be used for Covid-19, and to inform the reader on this issue.
