BULGARİSTAN TARİH DERS KİTAPLARINDA OSMANLI ÖNCESİ TÜRK BOYLARI ANLATISI
Öz
Bu makale, Bulgaristan tarih ders kitaplarında Osmanlı öncesi Türk boylarına yönelik anlatıları, Bulgar ulus kimliğinin inşa süreci çerçevesinde analiz etmektedir. Osmanlı sonrası Balkan ulus devletlerinde Türk ve Türklüğe dair algı, tarihsel hafızada çoğunlukla olumsuz kodlanmış; bu algının oluşumunda beş asırlık Osmanlı hâkimiyeti ve buna karşı geliştirilen milliyetçi tepkiler belirleyici olmuştur. Bulgar aydınları, uluslaşma sürecinde halkı eski, köklü ve Slav temelli bir etnogenez anlatısına ikna etmeye çalışmış; bu doğrultuda Türk kökenli unsurlar tarih yazımından sistematik biçimde dışlanmıştır. Yaklaşık beş yüzyıl Osmanlı egemenliğinde kalan Bulgar toplumu, bağımsızlık sonrası dönemde tarihini yeniden yazarken, Osmanlı ve Türklükle ilişkilendirilen tüm unsurları dışlamaya yönelmiştir. Bu bağlamda tarih ders kitapları, sadece bilgi aktaran metinler değil; aynı zamanda ulusal belleği biçimlendiren ideolojik araçlar hâline gelmiştir. Özellikle komünist dönemde, Marksist tarih anlayışıyla birleşen Slavcı söylem, Eski Bulgarların Türk kökenini görmezden gelerek Slavlaştırılmış bir ulusal geçmiş inşa etmiştir. Post-totaliter dönemde ise bilimsel literatürdeki çeşitli tezler, ders kitaplarında seçici ve çelişkili biçimde yer alarak öğrencilerde bilinçli bir köken belirsizliği yaratılmıştır. Bulgar bilim adamları tarafından bilimsel açıdan değerli çalışmalar ortaya konmuş ancak bunlar eğitim sisteminde yer bulmamıştır. Çalışmada Bulgaristan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı ilk ve ortaöğretim tarih kitapları taranarak, Bulgar tarih yazımında yer alan Hunlar, Avarlar, Peçenekler, Kumanlar ve diğer Türk boylarının anlatısı çözümlenmiş; bu anlatıların ideolojik ve tarihî bağlamdaki işlevleri değerlendirilmiştir.

NARRATIVE OF PRE-OTTOMAN TURKIC TRIBES IN BULGARIAN HISTORY TEXTBOOKS
Öz
This article analyses the narratives about pre-Ottoman Turkic tribes in Bulgarian history textbooks within the framework of the construction process of Bulgarian nation identity. In the post-Ottoman Balkan nation-states, the perception of Turks and Turkishness has been mostly negatively coded in historical memory; five centuries of Ottoman rule and the nationalist reactions against it have been decisive in the formation of this perception. Bulgarian intellectuals tried to convince the public of an old, deep-rooted and Slavic-based ethnogenesis narrative in the process of nation-building; accordingly, elements of Turkish origin were systematically excluded from historiography. Bulgarian society, which had been under Ottoman rule for nearly five centuries, tended to exclude all elements associated with the Ottoman Empire and Turkishness while rewriting its history in the post-independence period. In this context, history textbooks have become not only texts that convey information but also ideological tools that shape national memory. Especially in the communist period, the Slavist discourse combined with the Marxist understanding of history constructed a Slavicised national past by ignoring the Turkish origin of the Ancient Bulgarians. In the post-totalitarian period, various theses in the scientific literature were selectively and contradictorily included in the textbooks, creating a deliberate uncertainty of origin in the students. Scientifically valuable studies have been produced by Bulgarian scientists, but they have not found a place in the education system. In this study, it is analysed that the primary school textbooks of the Bulgarian Ministry of National Education.
