Tasavvuf Tarikat XVII. Yüzyıl Yenikapı Mevlevîhânesi Sabûhî Ahmed Dede
Śabūhī Ahmed Dede, one of the XVII. Century Mawlawiyya shaykhs, is a member of the Mawlawī House of Yenikapi. Śabūhī went to Konya and entered Bostan Çelebi and Abū Bakr Çelebi, who performed his first Śūfism experience with Kasım Baba. He continued his education in Konya for thirteen years and eventually became Mawlawī’s Dede then he became the shaykh in the Damascus Mawlawī house and in his, Śabūhī Dede who was appointed to the shaykh of Damascus Mawlawī house made the commentary of the couplets he had chosen from mathnavī in his work called Ikhtıyārāt-ı Śabūhī. In this article, an evaluation of the coming of Mawlawiyya orderto Istanbul and the history of Yenikapı Mawlawī house is made. Some information in the sources, especially about Yenikapı Mawlawī shaykh, has been reassessed and new determinations have been made. The information given about Kemal Ahmed Dede, Dogānī Ahmed Dede and Śabūhī Ahmed Dede was deemed to be in need of correctıon. We have re-scanned the sources of the period and evaluated the new information and findings. Firstly, XVII. century, the general status of the sect in Istanbul, the arrival of Mawlawī in Istanbul and other sects operating in this period and the representatives were given information about. From the foundation of Yenikapı Mawlawī House to the end of Śabūąī Ahmed Dede period, including Śabūhī’s death, we have offered our views on the process.
