MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF VOC GAS EMISSION VALUES

Abstract

In this study, the determination of VOC gases (Benzene and Toluene) emissions in the application of medium density fibreboard (MDF), particleboard, beech veneer, papel veneer, cellulosic, polyurethane and water-based varnishes, which are frequently used in furniture production processes in Turkey, was investigated. The obtained numerical results were obtained in the form of an equation (for each experimental sample) for the release of VOC gases as a function of time using the Fitting management in the Mathematica programme. Using this equation, the amount of VOC release can be determined for any desired time instant in the release process. In addition, when the VOC gases will be zero and remain below the exposure values can be calculated from the solution of the equations obtained. Producers can supply their products to the markets for sale when the VOC gases in the products are below the exposure value.
