High Frequency Inverter Design and Experimental Implementation for Magnetic Resonance-Coupled Wireless Energy Transfer
Öz
In this study, a high-frequency full-bridge inverter for a magnetic resonance-coupled wireless energy transfer (MRC-WET) system was designed and experimentally validated. The proposed system consists of an AC/DC rectifier, power stage, isolated gate driver circuit, full-bridge inverter, Series–Series (SS) compensation network, transmitting and receiving coils, rectifier circuit, and load unit. An operating frequency of approximately 86.25 kHz was selected, and resonance conditions were achieved using coils constructed with Litz wire. To reduce switching losses, a Zero Current Switching (ZCS)-based soft-switching technique was employed, while a snubber circuit was incorporated to suppress voltage spikes and protect the MOSFET switching devices. The developed system was implemented and tested experimentally in the Electrical Machines Laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. Experimental investigations were conducted at different coil separation distances. The results demonstrated that coil spacing has a significant influence on system performance. At a coil separation distance of 100 mm, the system delivered an output power of 31.69 VA with an efficiency of 35.23%. When the distance was reduced to 40 mm, the output power increased to 83.88 VA and the efficiency reached 96.50%. Oscilloscope measurements further confirmed stable resonant operation on both the primary and secondary sides and successful WET.
