Öz

Burnishing process is a post-processing operation used to obtain good surface quality. Burnishing process has some advantages such as increase of surface hardness and decrease of surface roughness on the surface work piece on which it is applied, resistance against material fatigue and abrasion resistance. As the main principle in this process is to crush the surface of material, this crushing mechanism and process parameters plays a key role on the roughness and hardness of material surface. In this study, 5083 Al-Mg material was burnished using different parameters as burnishing force of 100-200-300-400 N, feed rate of 0,15-0,25-0,35-0,45 mm/rev, number of revolution 100200-300 rev/min and ball diameter of 11,112-13,494-15,081-16,669 mm. At the end of the process the effects of parameters used for the duration of burnishing on surface roughness and surface hardness had been determined

HADDELEME (GALETAJ) İLE 5083 Al-Mg MALZEME YÜZEYİNİN İŞLENMESİ, HADDELEME PARAMETRELERİNİN YÜZEY PÜRÜZLÜLÜĞÜ VE YÜZEY SERTLİĞİNE ETKİLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Haddeleme işlemi,  talaşlı imalatta son işleme operasyonu olarak kullanılmaktadır ve uygulandığı iş parçası yüzeylerinde Yüzey pürüzlülüğünün iyileşmesi, sertliğin artması, malzeme yorulmasına karşı dayanıklılık ve aşınma direnci gibi avantajları da beraberinde getirmektedir. Haddeleme yapılan yüzey karakteristiğinde; yüzey pürüzlülüğünün azaltılması, yüzey sertliğinde artışlar, dolayısı ile malzemenin aşınma direncinin artması, malzeme yüzeyinde çatlak oluşturabilecek derinliklerin azaltılması vb. özelliklerin değiştiği bilinen bir gerçektir. Fakat; bu tür özeliklerdeki olumlu iyileşmeler; haddeleme işleminde kullanılan ilerleme, batma oranı, kullanılan silindir sayısı, bilye yarıçapı gibi parametrelere bağlı kalmaktadır.

 

Bu çalışmanın amacı haddeleme işlemi yapılırken kullanılan parametrelerin 5083 Al-Mg malzemesinin yüzeyinde meydana getireceği yüzey pürüzlülüğü ve yüzey sertliğine etkilerini incelemek ve haddeleme işleminin amaca uygun yapılabilmesi için gereken parametreleri belirlemektir.
