An Investigation of Technological Resistance and Airport Experience with Bibliometric Analysis

Öz

Airports have become important business centres today. In this respect, airports not only provide airline transport services but also incorporate many different business models and witness intense competition. In order to provide competitive advantage, businesses attach importance to the uniqueness of the airport experience they offer to passengers. In this context, the most utilised factor is technology. One of the reasons why airports are highly sensitive to technology is their aim to provide competitive advantage. The ability of businesses to gain maximum benefit from the technology offered varies according to the level of passengers' adoption and acceptance of technology. In this context, passengers' technological resistance plays a decisive role. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature on airport experience and technological resistance, providing insights into the trends and direction of the field. The analysis involved using R-based Bibliometrix software to examine 6,188 studies indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database from 1981 to 2024. The findings of the research indicate that the Efsa Journal stands out in terms of publication performance within this literature. Furthermore, researchers from the United States have made the most significant contributions to this field. Additionally, there appears to be a relatively higher concentration of studies focusing on technological resistance in the realms of health and genetics. The utilization of scientific mapping techniques is expected to provide valuable guidance for researchers by uncovering the prominent research themes.

Teknolojik Direnç ve Havalimanı Deneyiminin Bibliyometrik Analiz ile İncelenmesi

Öz

Havalimanları günümüzde önemli birer iş merkezi haline dönüşmüştür. Bu yönüyle havalimanları, sadece havayolu ulaşım hizmeti vermenin yanı sıra birçok farklı iş modelini de bünyesinde barındırmakta ve yoğun bir rekabete sahne olmaktadır. İşletmeler rekabet üstünlüğü sağlayabilmek için yolculara sundukları havalimanı deneyiminin eşsiz olmasına önem vermektedirler. Bu kapsamda en çok yararlandıkları faktör ise teknolojidir. Havalimanlarının teknolojiye son derece duyarlı olmalarının sebeplerinden biri rekabet üstünlüğü sağlama amaçlarıdır. İşletmelerin sunulan teknolojiden maksimum fayda sağlayabilmesi yolcuların teknolojiyi benimseme ve kabul etme düzeylerine göre değişmektedir. Bu kapsamda yolcuların teknolojik dirençleri belirleyici bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışma, havalimanı deneyimi ve teknolojik dirence ilişkin mevcut literatürü bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle analiz etmeyi ve literatürün yönüne ilişkin bir perspektif sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu süreçte Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanında 1981-2024 yılları arasında indekslenen 6,188 çalışmanın incelenmesi için R tabanlı Bibliometrix yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, Efsa Journal’ın yayın performansı açısından literatüre öncülük ettiğini göstermektedir. Amerika’dan araştırmacılar, ülke olarak literatüre en yüksek katkıyı sunmaktadır. Aynı zamanda sağlık ve genetik alanında teknolojik direnç ile ilişkili çalışmaların nispeten daha yoğunlukta olduğu bulunmuştur. Bilimsel haritalama tekniği vasıtasıyla ortaya çıkan araştırma temalarının ise araştırmacılara yol göstermesi beklenmektedir.
