The Blooming Periods of Dominant Honey Plant Species on The Floras of The Villages in Gümüşhane Central District
Abstract
This study was conducted at the villages of Gümüşhane central district between 2004-2007. Honey plants having population density which has the feature of being visited by the bees and located at the grasslands of the villages were used as the plant material during the task. The villages were visited in order to determine the common bloomin periods of the grasslands between April and October. The results showed that the source of nectar and pollen are orchards within the valley and a variety of natural grown tress in the forest, shrubs and grassy species at high plateaus and pastures. Another outcome of the the investigation is that 45 kinds of plants belonging to 18 plant families are concentrated at the region. In addition, it was found out that the common blooming periods for the honey plants is between April 20 and August 10.
