The concept of arabesque, which is generally used in the form of "something resembling Arabic music", "Arabic style" is used. It is a culture that has been shaped by the migration from the village to the city, the influence of which began to be felt in Turkey in the 1950s. The arabesque culture, created by the people who migrated from the village to the city while trying to hold on to the city, can be seen today in many areas such as music, cinema, literature and fashion.
Latife Tekin's (b. 1957) first novel Sevgili Arsız Ölüm (1983) followed by Berci Kristin Çöp Masalları (1984) is about the efforts of people who migrated from the village to the city to hold on to the city in the outskirts they created. In this study, we discussed the birth of the concept of arabesque and its relationship with literature as a culture. Based on two of Latife Tekin's selected novels, the elements of arabesque; Identity crisis has been tried to be examined in the context of literature under the titles of arabesque spaces, arabesque types, patriarchal structure and arabesque loves.
