The shrines and the beliefs and practices associated with them, which exist in every corner of Central Asia and Anatolia, display an intertwined view of the remnants of Shamanism and the cult of ancestors. Many of the shrines built in order to perpetuate the memories of people who are considered to be religiously important throughout Kazakhstan and throughout the Central Asian Turkic world are also valuable in terms of architecture. In the Muslim religious life of the Kazakhs, the effects of the old Turkish belief are very common. Along with the belief in the "ancestral spirit" originating from the cult of ancestors, a strong belief in the shrines continues to exist. Muslims in Kazakhstan are very respectful to the spirits of their "fathers". The concept of father includes male ancestors. Kazakhs, who are a patriarchal society, respect more the spirits of male ancestors, not female ancestors. That's why every Kazakh has to know the genealogy of his ancestors up to 7 generations back. They believe that ancestral spirits are around them and they practice certain beliefs and practices so that they can rest in peace and not disturb themselves. Therefore, there is a strong belief in the shrine, along with the belief in the "ancestral spirit" originating from the ancestor cult. There are 33 mausoleums determined by me, especially in the Southern Kazakhstan region. The most important of these is the shrine belonging to Hoca Ahmet Yesevi. In this study, the beliefs and practices applied in the shrine of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi will be examined and discussed.
