Öz

Amamç: Bu derleme, köpeklerde beslenme ile davranışsal tepkiler arasındaki ilişkiyi açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. Materyal ve Metot: Giderek artan sayıda bilimsel çalışma, çeşitli besin ögelerinin —özellikle mineraller (magnezyum, çinko, demir), yağ asitleri (özellikle Omega-3 Eikosapentaenoik asit vc Dokosaheksaenoik asit), amino asitler (özellikle triptofan) ve B vitaminlerinin— köpek davranışları üzerinde doğrudan etkili olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Çelışma bu araştırmaların bir kısmının özetlenmesi ile yapılmaştır. Bulgular: Bu bileşenlerin eksiklikleri, agresyon, anksiyete, dikkat eksikliği ve öğrenme bozuklukları gibi sorunlara yol açabilirken; yeterli ve dengeli alımları bu davranışsal problemlerin giderilmesinde önemli faydalar sağlayabilmektedir. Fonksiyonel gıdalar, doğal anksiyolitikler ve özel olarak tasarlanmış davranışsal, eliminasyon ve nöroprotektif diyetler, klasik tedavi yöntemlerine tamamlayıcı veya alternatif olarak köpeklerde stres yönetimi ve ruhsal denge üzerinde olumlu sonuçlar vermektedir. Probiyotik destekli diyetler ve mikrobiyota-beyin ekseni kavramı, davranışsal sağlığın bütüncül yönetiminde yeni bir perspektif sunmaktadır. Sonuç: Beslenmenin yalnızca fizyolojik sağlığı değil, aynı zamanda zihinsel ve davranışsal refahı da doğrudan etkilediği bu çalışma ile vurgulanmaktadır.
