Contraceptive Method Knowledge and Method use of Adolescents: Systematic Review

Öz

Objective: The studies that are made to examine contraceptive methods use and methods knowledge of adolescents have analyzed. Methods: Articles that are reached using“adolescent contraception” key word in Pubmeddatabase with literatures review had been limitedwith some criteria. The articles that had been published in the last ten years , the sample are adolescents between 13-18 years, are foundfull text had been examined and 378 articles hadbeen obtained. Nine article related to contraceptive method knowledge and method use of adolescents had been choosen within this article. Articles that are reached using “adolescent and contraceptive methods” key words in Scirus databasehad been limited with some criteria. The articlesthat had been published in the last ten years, are placed in BioMed Central journal source, are found in Digital Archives as websource, in the format of PDF had been examinedand 259 articles had been obtained. Four articleshad been chosen within this article. Thirteen studies formed the universe of work.Results: It is determined that 63.8-84.3% proportion whose know male condom, 51.8-67.8%proportion whose know pill, generally 11.3-78%proportion condom use, 5-52.6% contraceptivepills use between sexually active adolescents, inthe highest proportion, in the studies that examined method knowledge of adolescents. In the studies, it is determined that not use method proportions change between 5.0–19.5% during intercourse in general adolescent population. Conclusions: It is deduced that adolescentsdon’t use sufficiently contraceptive methods during intercourse although condom most knownand used by adolescents contraceptive method

ADÖLESANLARIN KONTRASEPTİF YÖNTEM BİLGİSİ VE YÖNTEM KULLANIMLARI: SİSTEMATİK İNCELEME

Öz

Amaç: Adölesanların kontraseptif yöntem kullanımı ve yöntem bilgisini incelemeye yönelik yapılan çalışmaları analiz etmektir. Yöntem: Literatür incelemesi ile Pubmed veritabanında “adolescent contraception” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak ulaşılan makaleler bazı kriterler ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Bu sınırlandırmada sadece sonon yılda yayınlanmış , örneklemi 13-18 yaş arası adölesanlar olan, full texti bulunan makaleler irdelenmiş ve 378 makale elde edilmiştir. Bu makalelerin içerisinden adölesanların kontraseptifyöntem bilgisi ve yöntem kullanma durumları ile ilgili olan dokuz makale seçilmiştir. Scirus veritabanında ise “adolescent and contraceptive methods” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak son on yılda yayınlanmış , BioMed Central dergi kaynağında yer alan, webkaynağı olarak Digital Archives’de bulunan, PDF formatındaki makaleler şeklinde sınırlandırma yapılmış ve toplam 259 makaleye ulaşılmıştır. Bu makaleler arasından 4 çalışma bulunmuştur. Çalışmanınevrenini 13 çalışma oluşturmuştur. Bulgular: Adölesanların yöntem bilgisini inceleyen çalışmalarda;en yüksek oranda, erkek kondomunu bilenlerin oranı %63.8-84.3, hapı bilenlerin oranı %51.8-67.8 olduğu, genel olarak cinsel yönden aktif adölesanlar arasında kondom kullananların oranının %11.3-78,oral kontraseptif kullananların oranının %5-52.6 olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmalarda, genel adölesan popülasyonunda cinsel ilişki esnasında yöntem kullanmama oranlarının %5-19.5 arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Çalışmada adölesanlar tarafından en çok bilinen ve kullanılan kontraseptif yöntemin kondom olmasına karşın adölesanlarıncinsel ilişki esnasında etkin konraseptif yöntemleri yeterince kullanmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır
