Nursing Approach Based on the Roy Adaptation Model of a Patient Undergoing Hemodialysis: Case Report

Öz

Hemodialysis treatment affects individuals' lifestyle, physiological needs, psychological states, social roles and self-perception. Patients receiving hemodialysis treatment experience difficulties in adapting to areas such as treatment, diet, fluid, and salt restriction, social role, and social life. The Roy Adaptation Model evaluates patients in the physiological domain, self-concept domain, role function domain, and interconnection domain, and focuses on their adaptation. This model increases the compliance of individuals receiving hemodialysis treatment by providing a holistic approach. In this case report, it was aimed to present the nursing care of an individual receiving regular hemodialysis treatment based on the Roy Adaptation Model.

Öz

Hemodiyaliz tedavisi bireylerin yaşam şeklini, fizyolojik gereksinimlerini, psikolojik durumlarını, sosyal rollerini ve benlik algısını etkilemektedir. Hemodiyaliz tedavisi alan hastalar tedavi, diyet, sıvı ve tuz kısıtlaması, sosyal rol, sosyal yaşam gibi alanlara uyum sağlamada güçlük yaşamaktadır. Roy Adaptasyon Modeli hastaları fizyolojik alan, benlik kavramı alanı, rol fonksiyon alanı ve birbirine bağlanma alanı içinde değerlendirmekte ve uyumlarına odaklanmaktadır. Bu model hemodiyaliz tedavisi alan bireylere bütüncül bir yaklaşım sağlayarak uyumlarını artırmaktadır. Bu olgu sunumunda düzenli hemodiyaliz tedavisi alan bir bireyin hemşirelik bakımını Roy Adaptasyon Modeline dayalı olarak sunmak amaçlandı.
